Noctambula is an LED, switch-operated and batery-powered lamp built withstandard components and one milk carton. No wiring. No soldering. Designed by Mireia Gordi Vila and Federico Trucchia as an open design framework, Noctambula will be later freely released as a set of instructions following Fatelo!’s philosophy.
We focused on exploring the technical and design possibilities of TetraPak as a conductive material for low voltage circuitry.
When you’re looking at Noctambula you’re looking at the circuit that makes it work.
A circuit that has been thought of as aesthetically pleasing and embodied as its own physical interface As such, there’s no diference between container and content.
As both are one and the same. There’s no functional circuit inside a box but rather a circuit shaped as a lamp.
All the components necessary to build Noctambula are mundane and standardized and easily available in hardware stores. It’s a simple recipe: you’ll only need 3 LEDs of your choice, 2AA bateries, 5 pins, one small magnet and a paper clip. Nothing else.
